Hoosier Fight Club returns to the Porter County Expo Center in Valparaiso, IN on August 20th, featuring a triple main event.  The concept of the triple main event is simple: Three UFC/TUF vets vs 3 local up and comers.  On the 20th, Phillipe Nover (TUF 8/UFC) will be facing off against Gilbert Grappling’s Jake Murphy, who has recently been living in New Mexico training at Jackson’s MMA.  Gilbert Grappling will have another fighter as well, by the name of Adam Ward, who is fighting TUF 12 vet, Andy Main.  Main fought previously for HFC event where he submitted Bobby Reardanz in January. Last but not least, 185lb Justin Ruggio will go toe to toe with TUF 9 vet, Frank “The Tank” Lester.

Today’s spotlight is on the bout between Adam Ward and Andy Main.  Andy Main will be returning to the 145lb division, to take on his opponent Adam Ward.  Main and Ward have had a mutual previous opponent, Bobby Reardanz.  HFC fans saw Main and Reardanz clash in a back and forth battle until Main finished the fight by way of submission due to armbar late in the second round.  Ward has also gotten to know Reardanz as an amateur in the cage, but suffered defeat via triangle choke.  However, the bout was early 2009, where it has become obvious to any spectator of the leaps and bounds that Ward has grown since his early days as a fighter.

“I think my style matches up perfect for someone like Adam. He seems to be ok at everything with grappling being his strength. I am also very well rounded but I think I will be significantly better in all areas, especially grappling. However that does not mean I will take him lightly. I will train like he is the best i’ve ever fought and be ready for everything.”  – Andy Main

Like his opponent, Adam Ward is no stranger to the HFC cage, where at the very same event in January, he defeated the HIT Squad’s 145lb prospect Lydell Rhodes in the second round as well, via submission due to triangle choke, after a back-and-forth, fast paced standup battle.

“Andy main would be a great stepping stone to escalate my career. Once i beat him, I know that I’m ready for the next step. This will be an exciting fight for fans, so I’ll be excited to give them a good show close to home.  I want to prove that I am a forced to be reckoned with! I am risking going 3-3 so this is a must win, it’s personal.”Adam Ward

Adam Ward and Andy Main will go head to head at Hoosier Fight Club 8, which will be at the Porter County Expo Center in Valparaiso, IN.  Tickets are currently on sale by calling 219-309-1861.  Doors open at 6:00PM.

“Fans should expect us both to show up prepared and bring the heat. I plan on bringing them a one-sided victory from New Jersey with love, ending with either a KO or submission.” Andy Main

“Expect fireworks! I know I’m the underdog, and I love it.  It gives me that much more motivation to perform to my greatest potential.  I want a knockout, but I am more than willing to go wherever the fight takes me.  All I know is that Saturday, August 20th, Andy Main’s going to have his hands full.”Adam Ward
