On Sunday, March 8th, former WEC bantamweight champion Chase Beebe will be taking on MMA newcomer Joe Warren in the first round of DREAM’s featherweight grand prix in Japan.
Both fighters come from a wrestling background. Joe Warren, a former Greco-Roman wrestling World Champion, will be making his MMA debut. Warren has spent significant time training with Team Quest in preparation for the fight.
Beebe, a four time Illinois state wrestling champion from Montini Catholic in Lombard, comes into the fight as the much more experienced MMA fighter, with 15 pro fights to his record (12 wins, 3 losses).
The DREAM featherweight grand prix will be contested at 63 kg/138.5 lbs. The first six bouts of the tournament take place on March 8th. The seventh bout will occur at DREAM 8 when Hideo Tokoro and Daika Hata face off. Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto will receive an automatic bye into the second round.
